Mason Rocca preps for the Knicks.

Mason Rocca and Armani Jeans Milano host the New York Knicks tomorrow for a friendly at the Mediolanum Forum. Rocca spoke with Euroleaugue.tv about both this exhibition and his team's prospects this season.

The game will be broadcast on MSG and NBATV on Sunday at 12:30 pm ET.



Monday News:

Chris Young threw 5 1/3 innings of shutout baseball for the Lake Elsinore Storm on Saturday night and declared that he's ready to return to the Padres. With 20 games left in the regular season and San Diego tied for first place, the question becomes what Young's role could be. Starter? Long reliever? Held out until 2011 to avoid another setback?

A hodgepodge of videos from various corners of the Princeton basketball family that don't fit anywhere else starting with archival footage of John Thompson III (#22) feeding Alan Williams (#24) for a bucket inside. Given the existence of the three point line, this is likely from the 1986-87 season, but I can't make out the opponent. Other players on the floor - Joe Scott (#4) and Bob Scrabis (#34).

Labor Day News:

In addition to the above video, there's a great piece on Russian national coach and Princeton alum Dave Blatt in today's New York Times. Russia meets New Zealand later today in the Eighth Finals of the 2010 FIBA World Championship, with the winner likely to face the United States on Thursday.

3 1/3 scoreless innings in his second rehab start for the Portland Beavers yesterday pleased Chris Young.

Georgetown has added a difficult home game versus Utah State to their 2010-11 schedule. The two teams will meet on December 4th.

Drew Crawford scored 21 points as Northwestern won their final game in Italy 77-55 against Pallacanestro Pavia. The Wildcats went 4-0 overseas.

Denver concluded its tour of Spain 4-2 with a four point win over Caja de Avila.

Craig Robinson will be the guest speaker at the United Way of the Mid-Willamette Valley's fundraising lunch on September 16th.

Eight minutes in Lavietes Pavilion.

Searching for additional details on Marcus Schroeder's audition for the Reno Bighorns, I stumbled across an eight minute stretch from Princeton's three point victory at Harvard last season.

Watch as the Tigers use a variety of defenses and deft passes to open up a seven point first half lead, part of a 17-1 Princeton run.

Schroeder plays particularly well during this excerpt.



Thursday News:

Northwestern has an early jump on practicing, given 10 sessions to prepare for the Wildcats' trip to Italy later this month. Senior guard Michael "Juice" Thompson wants to ask Kevin Coble to consider returning to the team.

Going to Spain at the end of August, Joe Scott and Denver are halfway through their NCAA-allocated practices.

A senior big man who was planning to go the DIII route changed his plans when Temple offered him a scholarship, telling the Tri-Town News that Princeton's staff wanted him to take a post-grad year at a prep school.
