Wednesday News:

Judson Wallace is on the move. Wallace is leaving Germany for a roster spot with Sicily's UPEA Capo D'Orlando. Wallace will be playing in the top Italian league, Lega Basket Serie A. Former Princeton center Mason Rocca was in Lega A last season as a member of Eldo Napoli.

Chris Young makes his final start before the All-Star break tonight. The Padres host Florida at 9:05 pm ET.

The San Diego Union Tribune has some quotes from National League All-Star manager Tony La Russa about Chris Young.

Friday News:

Eisbaren Bremerhaven saw their season come to an end yesterday, falling to Koln 84-67 in game five of their first round BBL playoff series. Judson Wallace had 12 points and 12 rebounds in defeat.

Wednesday News:

Game four of the first round BBL playoff series went to Koln, 73-71. Judson Wallace scored 14 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. The deciding game of the Eisbaren's series versus RheinEnergie will be on Thursday.

Wallace isn't the only recent Princeton graduate competing in a playoff series overseas. Scott Greenman had 22 points and five assists to send Bnei Hasharon to an overtime win in the Israeli League quarterfinals. Hasharon lost on Tuesday to Hapoel Jerusalem in the semifinals, 96-83. Greenman scored three points in seven minutes of play.

Chris Young is in Pittsburgh tonight, starting for San Diego against the Padres. 7:05 pm ET first pitch. Both the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and the Pittsburgh Tribune Review try their best to get Young to say something about his last outing against the Bucs, where he took a no-hitter into the ninth inning.

Will Venable was back batting lead-off for the San Antonio Missions. Venable went 2-5 with two runs scored, but the Missions dropped a wild 12-10 game to Springfield.



Tuesday News:

In game three of a first round BBL playoff series, Judson Wallace scored 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Eisbaren defeated Koln 88-80 to take a 2-1 lead. Penn alum Adam Chubb led five Bremerhaven players in double figures with 18.

A bases loaded third inning error put Chris Young and the Padres in a 5-0 hole versus the Cardinals on Saturday night in San Diego and the home team was unable to produce offensively against opposing pitcher Braden Looper.

"It wasn't my best outing, it wasn't my worst," said Young. "I was a little inconsistent and fell behind too many hitters. They are a good hitting team. You have to make good pitches and a couple of times tonight I made some mistakes and they got hit.

Midland scored eight runs in the last two innings to rally for a 9-8 win over San Antonio. Will Venable was 1-5 with a run scored.

In their regular season finale, Eisbaren Bremerhaven picked up a 72-68 victory over RheinEnergie Koln to lock up fourth place in the BBL. Judson Wallace scored 12 points off the bench. The Eisbaren and RheinEnergie will face each other again in a five game playoff series starting on the 20th.



Monday News:

Will Venable's weekend went as follows: Friday, 1-4 at the plate in a 1-0 loss to Midland. Saturday, a 1-2 performance as part of a 2-1 San Antonio victory. Sunday, 3-4 slugging as the Missions move into first place in the South division of the Texas League. Venable is now batting .341 for the season.

Over in Germany, Venable's former teammate Judson Wallace scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, but Bremerhaven lost 82-64 to Ludwigsburg on Sunday. The Eisbaren are 21-11 on the season and currently tied for fourth place with Koln.

6'8", 250 lb forward Phillip 'Tree' Thomas has signed to play basketball for Idaho. In the article about his signing, Princeton is listed as one of the "other schools that recruited Thomas."

Wallace leads his team with 16.6 ppg and 9.9 rpg, shooting 55.6% from the field.

Congratulations to Judson Wallace for becoming the 25th player in Princeton basketball history to score more than 1,000 points in his career. Wallace is the first Tiger to join this exclusive club since Gabe Lewullis in 1999. Doesn't ease the pain of tonight's OT loss to Penn, but still worth noting.
