Please join me in wishing Stan Adelson a happy birthday! Stan turned 90 yesterday. I love you Stan and I know I'm not alone with that sentiment.

Mitch Henderson and Sydney Johnson both made David Aldridge's list titled the "10 Best College Basketball Coaches Under 40 Years Old."

More lists! You can find John Thompson III and Joe Scott in a peer poll of the top 25 X's and O's coaches.

On the other end of the spectrum, see Craig Robinson as part of the "10 Worst Dressed Coaches in College Basketball." Personally, I appreciate the no tie look!

Thirteen Ivy League coaches were asked "Which six players in the conference would you most want on your team, regardless of position?" Just one Princeton returnee was a given response.

Will Venable was named the National League Player of the Week for the stretch ending August 18. A simple approach allowed Venable to become a complete player during his hitting streak, which ended at 15 games.

On Friday night San Diego came from six runs down to beat the Chicago Cubs. In addition to a two run triple off the top of the center field wall, Venable hammered a home run (video) to send the Padres in front late.

Going 9-22 at the plate after a lone hitless performance, Venable's season average has risen all the way to .272. He went deep again (video) on Saturday, HR number 19 for the former Princeton player.

Mike LeBlanc commits to Princeton.

I'm traveling in Europe until the weekend, so I can't give this news the full attention it deserves but 6'6" New Hampton School forward Mike LeBlanc has committed to Princeton, joining point guard Amir Bell in the Tigers' 2014 class.

LeBlanc reportedly chose Princeton over offers from Rice, Yale, Brown, New Hampshire and Binghamton.

Mason Rocca began his overseas professional career in Jesi and nine years after originally departing, Rocca has returned to Pala Triccoli following a single season with Bologna.

It appears Judson Wallace is returning to Italy, as he's poised to sign with Olimpia Milano.

Moved to the middle of the San Diego lineup, Will Venable has continued his hot streak. This stretch included Venable's 13th home run of the season (video), matching a career best. Venable also shared his thoughts on penalties for cheating in baseball with the Associated Press.

Princeton's game at Penn State will be take place at a venue the Nittany Lions haven't used for a game since 1996.

Georgetown and Oregon will tip the season in an even-less-tradtional venue: a United States Army base in South Korea.

Oregon State suspended a pair of forwards indefinitely.

A number of Princeton basketball slides have shown up on eBay, including this color shot of Geoff Petrie.

Here are stats through seven games for Jimmy Sherburne at the Milwaukee Pro-Am.

Dick Kazmaier passed away last week at the age of 82. Not only did Kazmaier's jersey number inspire Bill Bradley to don 42 but Kazmaier also earned a pair of varsity letters playing basketball. He scored 88 career points including a career high 13 against Dartmouth in 1951.

The Division I Men's Basketball Committee has altered the guidelines for seeding in the NCAA Tournament.

Spencer Weisz (seen above with David Blatt and Howie Levy) and the United States' 17-18 youth boys basketball team took the gold at the 2013 Maccabiah Games with a 78-62 win over Israel.

Will Barrett may have one of the "10 Prettiest Jump Shots in College Basketball for 2013-14 Season," but there's just one issue with his inclusion...

Sticking with lists, Mitch Henderson is 10th among the "Best Coaches Never to Make the NCAA Tournament."

We're at the point in the year where the upcoming Princeton basketball schedule could be announced tomorrow just as easily as it could be unveiled six weeks from now.

Who are the Tigers playing and where are they playing'm? What is already known, what is likely and what is still to be revealed?

As you can see from the final scores of games versus South Africa, Turkey, Canada and Brazil, Spencer Weisz and the United States 17-18 youth boys basketball team haven't faced much opposition at the 2013 Maccabiah Games. They'll go for the gold on Sunday versus Israel.

Will Princeton be the 114th-best team in Division I this season? One early preview thinks so.

The school's "38 Days, 38 Sports" turns the spotlight on men's basketball.

It was nearly another double-double for Edo Lawrence in JSBL action.

Will Venable has had a hot stretch, wherein he hit his 12th home run of the season (video) and made yet another tremendous diving catch to keep San Diego in front of Milwaukee. In his last 10 games Venable is .324 at the plate, raising his season average to .236.

The Ivy League Digital Network has unveiled their pricing plans.

This season Oregon State will visit both Maryland and DePaul.

Brown is the first Ivy League program to officially announce their 2013-14 schedule.

George Mason at Jadwin?

According to GMU Hoops, Princeton will host George Mason this season. A date for the game is unknown but that's a quality home contest in a schedule wherein only a pair of non-conference home tilts have so far been uncovered.

Tigers to play Liberty for first time.

I know a small number of as-yet-unannounced games on Princeton's upcoming schedule but one of them wasn't a visit to Liberty on January 4, 2014. Probably time to assemble a master list of the eight non-conference contests uncovered to-date.

T.J. Bray appears on the first team of an admittedly "way too early" preseason All-Ivy League.

In JSBL action, Edo Lawrence had a substantial double-double.

Not to be outdone, Jimmy Sherburne converted more than half of his 29 field goal attempts during a recent Milwaukee Pro-Am contest.

Hans Brase and Germany took 11th place at the U-20 European Championship.

A look back at Chester High School basketball includes the recollection of a time when the school defeated Reading High, then coached by Pete Carril.

You can meet Will Venable when the San Diego Padres visit the Los Angeles Dodgers on August 31st.

Princeton to play at Penn State this season.

The last time Princeton visited State College it was a game to forget. Hopefully the Tigers will fare better on December 14th of this year versus the Nittany Lions.
