Big East play has been a struggle for Georgetown (10-3). The Hoyas have failed to break 50 points in both of their conference games and last night John Thompson III's team was embarrassed by Pitt, 73-45.

Around the Ivy League: Columbia (8-6) lost 78-69 at Holy Cross. Brown (5-8) recorded a 75-74 overtime triumph over Niagara. Dartmouth (3-10) concluded a seven game losing streak with their 75-58 home win against Army. Penn (2-12) will visit Jadwin on Saturday as losers of seven straight. The Quakers came from 15 down in the second half against Lafayette to tie but Steve Rennard's wide open three pointer in the final seconds sailed right and the Leopards held on for the 85-83 final.

Monday News:

The Daily Princetonian rapidly reviews the Tigers games during the school's holiday break.

Denver (7-7) raced past UT-San Antonio, 75-50. The Pioneers are 3-1 in WAC play.

Bill Carmody had Northwestern (9-6) utilize almost all of every possession at #9 Minnesota. It worked for a while, as the Wildcats trailed 19-18 early into the second half. A 23-5 run over the next seven minutes gave the Golden Gophers comfort the rest of the way.

Leading by six at the break, Oregon State (10-4) was outscored 51-32 in the second half of their conference-opening loss to Oregon.

Around the Ivy League: Cornell (7-9) won 68-60 at American. Florida visited Yale (5-11) and came away with a 79-58 decision.

Princeton recruit Steven Cook was named to the All-Tournament Team after the conclusion of the mammoth Proviso West Holiday Tournament. Cook's New Trier squad finished sixth out of 32 teams. You can watch the complete sixth place game here.

Fairfield (10-5) won their sixth straight, an impressive 66-45 decision at conference leader Canisius.

Shooting 9-18 from three point range, Denver (6-7) bested Texas State by 11.

#2 Michigan opened on a 20-4 run and had no issues with shorthanded Northwestern (9-5). The Wildcats were without the services of leading scorer Reggie Hearn in the 94-66 loss.

Howie Levy's son Lior had 16 points for Princeton High School, who won at Trenton for the first time in nearly two decades on a three pointer at the buzzer.
