Mason Rocca has reached an agreement with Virtus Bologna.

Also off the transaction wire, former Tiger Konrad Wysocki has signed with EWE Baskets Oldenburg of Germany's Bundesliga.

T.J. Bray suited up over the weekend at the Milwaukee Summer Pro-Am. Jimmy Sherburne did not.

This is intriguing: A very tall Australian mentions in passing he has been contacted by Princeton.

Not only did Will Venable come off the bench to drive in what would be the game-winning run (video) for San Diego yesterday, he also made a spectacular extra innings catch two days prior you really must see.

Thursday News:

Sophomore guard Clay Wilson is preparing for a breakout second season at Princeton.

T.J. Bray and Jimmy Sherburne played their first game as teammates in the Milwaukee Summer Pro-Am. While both put up nice stat lines, it is concerning to read Sherburne had to leave the contest due to a shoulder injury.

Mason Rocca has an offer on the table from Virtus Bologna and is expected to give them an answer today.

Matching shutout innings with Jordan Zimmermann into the sixth, Chris Young (2-4) allowed a two run home run by Adam LaRoche and that was enough to send the Mets to defeat. Young gave up six hits and was aided by a pair of double plays.

The NCAA's new summer practice rule is benefitting everyone but the Ivy League.



Monday News:

Monday News:

As we hit the All-Star break, San Diego's Will Venable is slumping, hitting .091 in his last 10 games and down to .248 for the season. Venable has six home runs, 16 doubles and 21 RBIs as baseball pauses midway through the campaign.

Since returning from injury in June, Chris Young has started six games for the Mets. His 2-2 record disguises a 3.41 ERA. Young has pitched at least five innings in each of his starts.

After throwing six shutout innings against Philadelphia the last time out, Young was touched up for three runs in the seventh as the Phillies rallied past New York. Batters are hitting far better versus Young the third time through the lineup.

Pete Carril is part of the first class that will be inducted into the Reading High Athletic Hall of Fame.

Those in the DC area can watch Ian Hummer play at the Kenner League for Hoop Magic.

Hummer's Tigers are ranked 136th overall in the first 2012-13 team preview I've come across.

A 2013 power forward attending the LeBron James Skills Academy has heavy interest from three Ivy programs, including Princeton.

Fairfield has announced a competitive non-conference schedule for the upcoming season.

At the M&I Kansas City Shootout on November 30th, Oregon State will play Kansas.

Independence Day News:

The big news out of the town just north of the one I'm currently in was that the highest-rated prospect in a decade committed to Northwestern.

Several current and former Princeton players will suit up at the DelCo Pro-Am. Games kick off this Sunday.

Like the Tigers, Richmond also will be heading overseas in August.

He never played in college due to injury, but being hobbled actually set in motion the start of a relationship for Brian Elbogen, who got married last weekend. Aw.

Did you hear a former Harvard center is using the NCAA's graduate school eligibility option to play a final season at Boston College?



Friday News:

Unlike his last start versus the Yankees, where one pitch ruined his night, Chris Young (2-1) did not suffer a similar slip in the seventh inning against the Dodgers. Young allowed two earned runs on six hits while striking out six as the Mets defeated LA on the road 3-2.

Names like Georgetown's Hollis Thompson and Henry Sims (frozen by the top of Jay Bilas' Best Player Available list for most of the second round), Northwestern's John Shurna and Fairfield's Rakim Sanders were not called during last night's NBA Draft, but Oregon State's Jared Cunningham rose to 24th and was selected by Cleveland before being traded to Dallas.

Georgetown now knows their 18 Big East opponents for 2012-13. The Hoyas will travel to this area for games at Rutgers, St. John's and Villanova.

Will Venable was one of two Padres to attend the Salute to the Negro Leagues luncheon in San Diego.

The NCAA has released their annual Academic Progress Rate report and Princeton faired quite well across all sports, including a perfect "1000" multi-year rate for men's basketball. You can search by school, sport and conference here.

Chier Ajou has been officially added to Northwestern's 2012 recruiting class, making him the tallest player in school history.

Just up the road from Evanston, Princeton recruit Steven Cook is working on his shooting touch.

Mason Rocca might stay with Milano for another season after all.

Judson Wallace knocked down a championship-sealing pair of free throws with a just over a second remaining as FC Barcelona defeated Real Madrid 73-69 in the deciding game of the ACB championship series.

Chris Young (1-1) likely deserved a better fate on Father's Day, taking a loss despite throwing seven innings versus the Reds during which he only allowed two earned runs. Young also drove in his team's first tally with a bases loaded walk (video). The Mets fell to Cincinnati 3-1.

Siena won the Lega A championship series in five games, perhaps ending the career of Mason Rocca with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano

He says he won't make a decision until March of next year, but a big man from the Los Angeles area mentions Princeton as one of five like-minded schools showing interest in him.

The Tigers are one of over 40 schools inquiring about a small forward from Georgia.

Another Georgian has a comparatively shorter (but still lengthy) school list that includes Princeton.

Georgetown will open its season on November 9th against Florida on an aircraft carrier near Jacksonville.
