The summer before last I spent a fair amount of time scanning classic trading cards of Princeton greats who played in the ABA and/or NBA including Brian Taylor, Geoff Petrie and Armond Hill.
Last night a new card was introduced, handed out to fans entering Jadwin Gym as part of the evening's festivities surrounding Taylor. Images of both sides have been added to this series and can be seen above.
Photos from the stellar postgame reception honoring Taylor will be up later today.

Richmond (23-7) was outplayed and outhustled most of the night by Dayton, but seven straight points late from senior David Gonzalvez and 14 steals willed the Spiders to the 60-56 win.
Oregon State (14-15) nearly let an 18 point halftime lead get away, holding on for the 59-55 victory over Washington State. Jared Cunningham tied a school record with eight steals.

Did you have a good Thursday? Princeton recruit T.J. Bray had a better Thursday. Bray became Catholic Memorial's all time leading scorer in a 72-62 Crusader victory over Lakeside Lutheran in the second-round of the WIAA Division 2 tournament - recording 24 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, dishing out 10 assists and adding five blocks for good measure. Lordy.
I know there's a presentation honoring Brian Taylor at halftime of the Harvard/Princeton game, but the LA Times reports Princeton will also retire his jersey number.

Former Princeton great Brian Taylor is part of a new documentary called "Spirit of Champions: Memories of the 1968 State Basketball Championship Season" about his junior year at Perth Amboy High School.

A reader sent us an oversized trading card featuring the pride of Perth Amboy that we did not have in our collection. It is 1977 Topps trading card #73. If you missed our scans of trading cards featuring Princeton stars of the 1970s last summer, click here to enjoy the series.
1981 was the last year until the early 1990s that Topps made basketball trading cards. Each card in this set had three players on it, with perforations that allowed for division into three smaller cards. This is our final Brian Taylor scan, 1981 Topps trading card #216.

This Brian Taylor card was #221 in the ill-fated series, from Taylor's penultimate NBA campaign.

Another Brian Taylor scan. The back of the card might be my favorite one yet. 1978 Topps #14, from his second NBA season.
