The return of Chris Young to the mound for the first time in 10 months was a rousing success. Young pitched six innings of shutout, one hit baseball as San Diego defeated Arizona 6-3. You can watch highlights of Young's night here.
Teammate Will Venable provided Young with support, hitting a solo home run to right field in the fourth inning.
Tiger recruit Ben Hazel, who I can confirm did receive official admission to Princeton, was named Honorable Mention 2010 All-Met Boys Basketball.
Northwestern backup center Kyle Rowley is transferring.

Jeff Goodman of Fox Sports just reported that according to multiple sources Steve Donahue will be the next head coach at Boston College.
Chris Young makes his first start of the year for San Diego tonight at 9:40 pm ET in Arizona. Yesterday, in the Padres' season opener, Will Venable was 0-3 at the plate.

Princeton recruit Chris Clement scored 20 points for the North team in a 104-93 loss at the 2010 Dennis Johnson Memorial Boys High School All-Star Classic.
The Padres begin their season in Arizona this afternoon with Will Venable starting in right field. Watch video of Venable smacking his third of four home runs this spring training.

Last night Chris Mooney withdrew his name from the Boston College coaching search and signed an extension at Richmond through the 2016-17 season.
Princeton recruit T.J. Bray could step into a great situation in the fall.

I realized this morning that Princeton's Brian Earl has been involved in each of the Tigers' last six postseason victories. Four as a player, two as assistant.

Congratulations to Cornell (28-4), who recorded the Ivy League's first NCAA Tournament win since 1998 with a convincing 78-63 performance versus Temple. Soft Pretzel Logic has a great post about this game.

Richmond (23-7) was outplayed and outhustled most of the night by Dayton, but seven straight points late from senior David Gonzalvez and 14 steals willed the Spiders to the 60-56 win.

Bray became Catholic Memorial's all time leading scorer in a 72-62 Crusader victory over Lakeside Lutheran in the second-round of the WIAA Division 2 tournament - recording 24 points, grabbing 20 rebounds, dishing out 10 assists and adding five blocks for good measure. Lordy.
I know there's a presentation honoring Brian Taylor at halftime of the Harvard/Princeton game, but the LA Times reports Princeton will also retire his jersey number.

Princeton has participated in two closed scrimmages this preseason, hosting one versus Siena and the other last weekend at Towson. Since the NCAA does not permit the public or the media from viewing these scrimmages, word out of each has been minimal, but the Twitter feed for I-95 Ballerz does have a teaser about Tiger freshman Ian Hummer (above). The SienaHoops message board has a thread wherein members try and piece together details from their trip to Jadwin.
