Saturday News:

Will Venable was 4-6 at the plate in Portland's 17-4 win over Salt Lake last night. Venable is now batting .322 over 34 games at the AAA level.

Chris Young suffered a broken nose and a facial laceration last night when he was hit in the face by a batted ball from Albert Pujols.

Will Venable was 4-5 at the plate as Portland defeated the Tucson Sidewinders 16-9.

Chris Young came out on top in a pitching duel with Houston's Brandon Backe. The Padres bullpen held up after Young departed in the sixth inning of a 2-1 San Diego win.

Princeton recruit John Comfort received Special Mention on the Illinois 3A/4A Boys All-State team. Comfort will also be playing in the Chicago Catholic League vs. Suburban Catholic League All Star Game.
