Less than two years after he was hired, Princeton Director of Basketball Operations Kendrick Saunders is leaving the program to accept an assistant coach position at Navy. I'm sorry to see him go but I wish him the best of luck with this hands-on opportunity. The job description for the now-open DOBO position can be found here.

Oregon State (9) vs. Arizona (4) - 9:10 pm ET - Pac-12 Tournament - FSN
Up four with the ball twice in the final three minutes, Northwestern (18-13) went scoreless the rest of regulation and in an agonizing overtime were doubled up by Minnesota at the Big 10 Tournament. The 75-68 defeat likely ruins the Wildcats' hopes for an NCAA Tournament at-large entry.
Georgetown (23-8) dropped a double OT thriller to Cincinnati, 72-70. Five missed free throws were costly to the Hoyas. Our friends at Hoya Prospectus crunch the numbers.
If you had Oregon State (19-13) as the last member of the Carril Cradle still playing come Friday, please raise your hand. The Beavers built a 13 point halftime lead and then had to come from eight back to stun top seed Washington by a pair at the Pac-12 Tournament. Will Venable capped 2011 with his first career grand slam (video) as San Diego beat the Cubs 9-2. Venable hit .154 over his final 10 games of the year, lovering his season average to .246 with an on base percentage of .310. The former two sport Princeton star had 91 hits, nine home runs, 44 runs batted in and 28 stolen bases across 121 games. He dropped his strikeout total from 128 in 392 at bats last year to 92 strikeouts in 370 at bats for 2010.
Princeton is viewed as the fourth-strongest team in the New York area by Big Apple Buckets.
John Thompson III attended the Institute for the Advancement of Multicultural & Minority Medicine's annual gala. Thompson's wife Monica was honorary chair of this event.
A Minnesota point guard verbally committed to Harvard. Penn also added a big man to compliment their guard-heavy roster.
Former Princeton assistant and current Fairfield Director of Basketball Operations Martin Bahar is raising money for the 2011 Light The Night walk, which supports the The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
