Chris Young came within four outs of professional baseball's 18th perfect game, his flirtation with immortality broken up by a long Gabe Kapler home run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth. Young settled for the first complete game of his career, a 10-1 San Diego victory over Milwaukee. Will Venable added two hits and was driven in by Young on a sacrifice fly in the eighth.
