There was a long list of things to like coming out of Princeton's wire-to-wire 10 point win at Elon on Saturday afternoon.

Whether it was Ian Hummer matching his career high of 28 points on 10-16 shooting, Will Barrett's five straight three pointers in the first half or T.J. Bray's dozen turned in entirely after intermission, several of the positives were individual.

But there was also 15 offensive rebounds and a 36-25 overall advantage on the glass for the Tigers, not to mention just three turnovers in the final 20 minutes as the Phoenix attempted to come from 16 down with 8:40 remaining following Hummer's dunk up and over the face of Elon leading scorer Lucas Troutman.

Perhaps the nicest thing on a day with limited complaints was how Princeton handled themselves when Troutman drew his team within seven.

Scoring on their last six possessions beginning with a driving Mack Darrow setting up Denton Koon for a two hand dunk, the Tigers never allowed their hosts a chance to administer additional pressure as the orange and black went 7-8 at the line to boost their chances into the waning seconds.

"I liked the calmness," recognized Princeton head coach Mitch Henderson. "There's a calmness now, which is the kind of progress we needed."

Troutman scored 14 on 13 field goal attempts but also had a 0:5 assist-to-turnover ratio.

Princeton recruit Steven Cook was named to the All-Tournament Team after the conclusion of the mammoth Proviso West Holiday Tournament. Cook's New Trier squad finished sixth out of 32 teams. You can watch the complete sixth place game here.

Fairfield (10-5) won their sixth straight, an impressive 66-45 decision at conference leader Canisius.

Shooting 9-18 from three point range, Denver (6-7) bested Texas State by 11.

#2 Michigan opened on a 20-4 run and had no issues with shorthanded Northwestern (9-5). The Wildcats were without the services of leading scorer Reggie Hearn in the 94-66 loss.

Howie Levy's son Lior had 16 points for Princeton High School, who won at Trenton for the first time in nearly two decades on a three pointer at the buzzer.

The short work week due to New Year's Day didn't allow for Princeton head coach Mitch Henderson and princetonbasketball.com editor Jon Solomon to successfully schedule an in-person edition of their weekly interview series so for the first time in the history of this site feature a phone conversation will certainly suffice.

After three straight shared or solo Ivy League Player of the Week nods, Ian Hummer has to settle for the honor roll this time out.

Speaking of Hummer, here's video of he and fellow senior Brendan Connolly facing off in one of the media time out spectator contests during yesterday's women's game at Jadwin versus Drexel. Sadly, no tricycles were involved.

Denver (5-7) shut down UT-Arlington, 50-35.

Ahmad Starks scored 21 as Oregon State (10-3) concluded non-conference play with an 84-59 win over UT-Pan American.

Around the Ivy League: Dartmouth (2-9) fell 79-58 at Boston College. Albany evaded Brown (4-7) by a 57-50 final. Despite not trailing for 39:58:90 and leading by as many as 18 points, Harvard lost 70-69 at St. Mary's. Mitchell Young's pair of free throws, fouled on an offensive rebound with just over a second to go, put the Gaels in front for the first time.
