Wednesday News:

Wednesday, March 7th
Pitt (13) vs. Georgetown (5) - 2:00 pm ET - Big East Tournament - ESPN
Washington State (9) vs. Oregon State (8) - 3:00 pm ET - Pac-12 Tournament - FSN

Thursday, March 8th
Minnesota (10) vs. Northwestern (7) - 5:30 pm ET - Big 10 Tournament - ESPN2

In addition to our recap, read about Princeton's win over Penn to close the regular season on goprincetontigers.com, in the Daily Princetonian, in the Boston Globe, in the New York Times, in the Trentonian, in the Daily Pennsylvanian, in the Daily News, in the Philadelphia Inquirer, on Soft Pretzel Logic, courtesy of the Associated Press and on pennathletics.com.

ESPN's Dana O'Neil and SportsProf also have pieces on the game.

Princeton recruit Steven Cook and New Trier lost to Evanston in the sectional semis.

Will Venable discusses his choice of at bat music.

So caught up in the game I was watching, I didn't realize Richmond (16-16) lost to La Salle 80-72 in the Atlantic 10 Tournament.

Georgetown plays Pitt in the second round of the Big East Tournament.

At the Pac-12 Tournament it will be Oregon State versus Washington State.

Like so many teams, Denver is now playing the waiting game.

The Beavers' Doug Stewart is apparently a candidate for the Brown job.

Jon,

Any word on NIT/CBI possibilities? What historically has the committee relied on for picking teams (RPI, Pomeroy, SoS etc.)? Would they consider the fact that we *want* to be there (rather than big conference teams who are resigned to go), or is that outweighed by the fact that we won't be bringing large fan bases the way major conference teams can? Will they care that we finished the season so strong?

A lot of questions I know, but I was wondering what your insights were.

Thanks for your hard work as always,

Dan

Daniel,

NIT is the goal but CBI will be there if Princeton doesn't make it in.

Now that the NIT is property of the NCAA there is an actual selection committee and all regular season conference champs get an auto bid.

So, root for few upsets in the lower conference tournaments and I'll come up with Princeton's case to get a bid tonight.

Hopefully four wins against Top 100 RPI teams and having the second-strongest profile in a conference that has four teams in the RPI Top 102 (please slide up, Yale) will be compelling along with some of the reasons you outline.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE: 7-0 AT HOME!

(i'll repeat any accurate predictions I make, if any, in capital letters :))

Even if an NIT bid doesn't come (I have a feeling it will), I feel great about this team going into the postseason and going into next year.

Adam
