Chris Young nearly made it through seven innings against Seattle. With the Padres holding a two run lead in the top of the seventh, two on and two out, Young hit Ben Broussard with a pitch that loaded the bases and brought the always dangerous Ichiro Suzuki to the plate. Suzuki tied the game with a single to center, the second run scoring on a extremely close play at the plate. Young's day was done and the Padres would go down 4-3 on an unearned run in the ninth.
Will Venable was 1-4 with two runs scored on Friday in a 6-3 loss to Frisco. On Saturday Venable's ten game hitting streak came to an end and Venable made his first error of the season in a 5-0 loss at home to Corpus Christi. Venable's weekend concluded with a 0-3 performance at the plate and a run scored as San Antonio fell to the visiting Hooks 4-2.
