It wasn't as dominant a performance as most of his recent starts have been, but Chris Young bested Los Angeles for the first time as the Padres moved back into first place on Friday night. San Diego scored six runs in the fourth and Young was able to work through potentially dangerous situations all game long, giving up just two earned runs.
San Antonio played a doubleheader at Tulsa yesterday. In game one Will Venable was 2-3 with a double and a walk, driving in three runs as the Missions won 5-3. San Antonio completed the sweep with a 10-2 victory in the nightcap. Venable was 0-4.
