Wednesday News:

Chris Young pitched the fifth inning for the National League in last night's All-Star Game. With his team up 1-0, Young walked Brian Roberts on a high fastball with a full count, then retired Jorge Posada on a fly ball to center. Next up was Ichiro Suzuki, who had hit .400 versus Young over the previous 20 times they had faced off. Ichiro hit a fly ball beyond right fielder Ken Griffey Jr. that looked to be an easy double, but the ball deflected off the outfield wall at an unexpected 135 degree angle. The speedy Ichiro rounded all four bases for the first inside-the-park home run in All-Star Game history. Young made Derek Jeter fly out to center and Justin Morneau do the same to right and his evening was complete.

The National League would fall to the American League 5-4, Young taking the loss in his first All-Star Game appearance. The AL is now 10-0-1 in the last eleven years of All-Star play.

Before the game, Young was picture-perfect.
