Chris Young struggled with his control, walking a season-high six while allowing just two hits in San Diego's 8-7 loss to Arizona. Young gave up two runs while he was in the game, leaving with the bases loaded and one out in the fifth. The Padres bullpen walked in a run before the bases emptied on Mark Reynolds' three run double, putting the home team in a hole they were not able to climb out of.
It's a little tight right now but on the mound, I didn't think about it," Young said of his back. "I was rusty, that was it. I dug us in a hole and that was tough to overcome. ... I was able to turn loose the ball. It had more life than I've had in months."
Will Venable was 1-3 with a triple as San Antonio won it's third straight, a 4-1 decision over Midland.
