Every year it sneaks up on me at a different moment, but yesterday was the first time I got excited about the upcoming college basketball season. Stopping by Jadwin Gym to pick something up for my wife's school, I could hear the sounds of practice behind blacked-out windows. Sneakers squeaking over the noises of bodies in motion and the voices of players and coaches alike. It was hard to resist the temptation to run up to the balcony and see what I was missing, but somehow I found the willpower.
